A coffered facade covering 9, 000 square meters
Oct 10, 2010

Henning Larsen Architects chose Alucobond to clad the Uppsala Concert and Congress Hall façade, as the material delivers the right high rigidity. In design terms, the smooth, sharp-edged material forms a contrast to the lively play of the bent coffers. In constructional terms the coffers' size makes high demands of the material's load-bearing capacity.

Using Alucobond enabled the architects to give the façade the clear expression they sought and they produced the desired crystalline look across a surface of no less than 9,000 square meters.
