When there are important things to discuss, people get together around a table to do so. A table such as “Filo Table”, which Austria design agency Eoos created for office furniture manufacturers Bene. The table with a top made of genuine wood veneer offers space for eight people. A special feature: At 4.8 meters in length, the table is able to support itself with just three diecast aluminum legs. And boasts a masterly solution for the integration of communication technology: all ports are located in one place installed in a single media panel beneath the tabletop, while the “Tornado” cable ducts holds all cables in one tidy bundle leading them from the table to the floor. This allows all those at table toe enjoy plenty of leg room, leaving them free to concentrate on communication.

The matching “Filo Chair” was inspired by Japanese archers, who for the Viennese design trio, Bergmann, Gründl and Bohmann, symbolize the very pinnacle of concentration. This model led to the idea for an ergonomic chair with curved armrests and a backrest, taut like the string of a bow. This enables the armrests to flex and complement the user’s movements. When the user stands up, the “Filo Chair” automatically returns to its original position.

It was these characteristics that led architect Tom Lechner to choose “Filo Tables” and “Filo Chairs” for the new headquarters of Austrian construction company Peneder in Atzbach. The office furniture by Bene will furnish three conference rooms, which are stacked one on top of the other like building blocks and open out to the foyer area with its large glass façades.
