“Amisol” by Daniel Rybakken for Luceplan

3/30/2017

[Daniel Rybakken](https://www.stylepark.com/en/designer/daniel-rybakken) is the tightrope artist among luminaire designers. He repeatedly surprises the world with intelligent, and yet elegant luminaires, such as recent “[Ascent](https://www.stylepark.com/en/luceplan/ascent)” and “[Counterbalance](https://www.stylepark.com/en/luceplan/counterbalance)” for Luceplan, both of which won a Compasso d’Oro. And now the successful Norwegian-Italian alliance has again conjured up something new: it’s called “[Amisol](https://www.stylepark.com/en/luceplan/amisol),” a ceiling luminaire with a touch of the installation about it. The idea is incredibly simple: An LED spot illuminates a circular sun sail to diffuse soft light. It's an alternative to the translucent sail: a reflective surface that bounces light back. The disk is framed by an aluminum ring and comes with a diameter of 75 or 108 centimeters. (mm)
