Be it for one of those cooler autumn days or in mild summer weather: “Weissenhaus Grand Village Resort and Spa” offers luxurious relaxation in a castle on the Baltic Sea coast. The five-star hotel facing out onto the beach at Hohwacht Bay boasts a generous 1,500 square meter spa and snow grotto (reached by an underground tunnel) and comfortable suites equipped with a love for detail and fittings by Axor in the Belle Époque style.
The 17th-century castle of Count Platen von Hallermund stands at the resort’s heart, amidst what were once stables, the thatched barn and the spa complex. Until 1993 his descendants still lived here. After modernization interior designer Markus Diedenhofen used marble and wood together with furniture in warm earthy tones to create guest rooms that are as classic as they are subtle.
The bathrooms in the ten spacious suites with saunas, free-standing bathtubs and taps from the “Axor Montreux” collection are veritable islands of relaxation. In their romantic spa bathrooms with delicate bathroom and washstand fittings in the Belle Époque style by Phoenix Design guests can feel themselves whisked back to the fin de siècle. For example, authentic-style “Axor Montreux 3-hole mixers for wall mounting” featuring star handles with porcelain inlays grace the marble-clad washstands. And the floor-standing “Axor Montreux twin-faucet bath mixers” complete the free-standing bathtubs, which like all the other fittings in the suites were custom-made specially by Axor.
