A small weekend house in the Eifel countryside stands on a steep slope with a clear view of a reservoir. Thanks to the homogeneous texture of the facades made of diamond-shaped aluminum shingles the building has the feel of a solid block about it. Even the saddle roof is completely covered in aluminum shingles. Moreover, in direct proximity stands another residence, of similar proportions but completely different in terms of material and type: the "Rote Haus", evidently not built until the 1970s.
