Sit back and enjoy good food!

Someone has demonstrated a good understanding of business here, because as everyone knows it is much easier to conduct business at the local bar or in the golf club than in the office. Volksbank Gütersloh and hotel manager Ralf Schubert have created a concept that combines culinary enjoyment with business. In the so-called “Bankery” guests or customers can experience exquisite dishes while chatting about bank business in a pleasant atmosphere. In a listed building, architect Walter Hauer has designed a space that certainly doesn’t conjure up any of the usual connotations with the interior design of a bank. Warm colors, wooden and leather surfaces define the room’s atmosphere, while the chairs and bar stools were supplied by furniture manufacturer KFF, based in Lemgo, Germany.
KFF was established almost thirty years ago by Karl Friedrich Förster. The company enjoyed its first big success shortly afterwards with the “Sinus” chair. KFF has since sold over 250,000 exemplars of this model alone. Furniture by KFF is made exclusively in Germany, using the highest quality materials. They ensure the best possible production quality by relying on regional suppliers with a focus on craftsmanship. These are just some of the qualities that set the company apart from its competitors. KFF also cooperates closely with architects and planners, enabling them to cater to special wishes for specific projects. Sometimes the resulting, custom-made pieces are then produced in larger numbers.

KFF also fitted out the restaurant in the “Am Meer” hotel on north-eastern tip of Germany, located right on the promenade of the Baltic resort Binz on the island of Rügen. In the restaurant, oak floors, striking coral luminaires and earthy tones make for a warm, cozy atmosphere. KFF supplied comfy seating in the form of an upholstered version of the “Maverick Plus” chair. The chair’s warm colors underscore the sunny setting. Guests can take a seat at the hotel bar on one of KFF’s “Texas Exclusiv”bar stools, while the lounge is fitted out with “Texas Exclusiv” armchairs in the cantilever version as well as the modular bench system, “Gate”.
Another example testifying to KFF’s great expertise in equipping public areas can be seen in the restaurant in the former Royal Library of the Princes of Fuerstenberg (Fürstliche Fürstenbergische Hofbibliothek) in Donaueschingen. In its heyday the library was one of the largest and most important of its kind in Germany. However, from 1980 through 2001 most of its collections including numerous manuscripts and old prints were sold to other libraries and auctioneers, after which the building stood empty for many years. Extensive restoration work was then carried out based on plans by Gäbele & Raufer Architekten, and today the “Hofbibliothek” restaurant is located on the ground floor of the historical building, which also houses a museum and event rooms. An accomplished combination of the old with the new makes for a harmonious setting in the old building; and tables and chairs from the “Unique” series and the “Unit” bar stool by KFF round out the concept perfectly.

Sitting on “Texas Exclusiv” bar stools by KFF is certainly conducive to doing business over the counter.
