Side is a surprising and beautiful table lamp that provides an evocative light. Its Finnish designer, Heikki Ruoho, has created a table lamp with a light and modern expression; and when lit, the lamp’s transparent shade ensures a pleasant and soft light. Heikki Ruoho has taken the archetypal table lamp and made it his own. The result is an elegant table lamp with an accessible design. The simple, clean base contrasts against the soft light that shines through the transparent shade made of acrylic. This creates a lively and dynamic design that is straightforward. Heikki Ruoho explains: “The Side table lamp is my interpretation of the archetypal lamp. Seen from the side, it has the shape that a child would typically produce when drawing a lamp – with a foot, body and head. It is straightforward and uncomplicated. Due to its transparent shade, Side produces a soft light and creates a cosy atmosphere in the room it features in.”
