Two projects in Denmark show with expanded metal from RMIG how a sunscreen that was technically necessary makes for sophisticated architecture.
Sun screens in expanded metal
This huge exhibition building is surrounded by sunscreens in large mesh expanded metal completely covering the walls. To obtain a vertical stripe effect, the sheets are fixed with a constant angle between them. The issue for this project was ensuring that the facade could withstand the Bilbao climate, which was achieved with polyester coating on a hot dip galvanised base.
