This creative collaboration has been one of the highlights of what has been a productive friendship between Ruy Ohtake and Roca - a partnership that would go on to include other design projects, ideas, talks, seminars, exhibits, masterclasses, awards and an enduring mutually inspiring creative exchange. The curves and the organic character of Ruy's Ohtake work made him an ideal guest collaborator for the Roca Group. Furthermore, Ruy’s active participation and attention to the execution of his designs, no matter what scale, perfectly aligned him with Roca’s commitment to craftmanship excellence. In developing his design for Ohtake Collection, the architect looked beyond Nature’s liquid curves, to find inspiration on another unexpected natural item: the egg. “The egg is something of an exceptional quality, with its high rigidity even with such a thin skin!”, he would comment. Seeing a correlation between the lightness of the egg skin and Roca’s Fineceramic® material, he applied that cutting edge technology to achieve the ultra-thin borders he had envisioned for his sculptural designs for the collection. The resulting pieces feature Ruy’s signature sensual shapes, with undulating edges and outlines, resembling more a walk in the beach than simply a basin container. As he would say: “A good piece of Architecture, of design, must have an element of unpredictability, of emotion”. ![Ohtake A327 A13860 Roca t Product Pictures TF Mob prod xxl v2](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/Ohtake_A327A13860_Roca_t_Product_Pictures_TF_Mob_prod_xxl_v2_2025-02-25-133032_mmau.jpg)![S8010 ROCA Ruy Ohtake AMB04 GEN01 FIN02 A4 s RGB web Download 72 dpi](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/S8010_ROCA_Ruy-Ohtake_AMB04_GEN01_FIN02_A4_sRGB_web-Download_72_dpi.jpg)![Ohtake A327 A13140 Roca t Product Pictures TF Mob prod xxl v2](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/Ohtake_A327A13140_Roca_t_Product_Pictures_TF_Mob_prod_xxl_v2_2025-02-25-133030_wmsl.jpg)![Ohtake Roca A342688000 A341681000 A801 E22001 A327 A13620 A5 A359 ENB0 A812338000 A851716509 A817596 C40 A817595 C40 22 05 Roca264 TVM02 t Ambient Pictures TF Mob solu xxl v2](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/Ohtake_Roca_A342688000_A341681000_A801E22001_A327A13620_A5A359ENB0_A812338000_A851716509_A817596C40_A817595C40_22_05_Roca264_TVM02_t_Ambient_Pictures_TF_Mob_solu_xxl_v2_2025-02-25-133034_lqpj.jpg)![Ohtake A327 A14000 A5 A3 A9 ECN0 22 05 Roca451 Download 72 dpi](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/Ohtake_A327A14000_A5A3A9ECN0_22_05_Roca451-Download_72_dpi.jpg)![Ohtake A327 A14000 A5 A3 A9 ECN0 22 05 Roca341 Download 72 dpi](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/Ohtake_A327A14000_A5A3A9ECN0_22_05_Roca341-Download_72_dpi.jpg) ![ROCA A327 A13088 t Product Pictures TF Mob prod xxl v2](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/ROCA_A327A13088_t_Product_Pictures_TF_Mob_prod_xxl_v2_2025-02-25-133036_aiux.jpg)![Ohtake A327 A13000 Roca t Product Pictures TF Mob prod xxl v2](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/Ohtake_A327A13000_Roca_t_Product_Pictures_TF_Mob_prod_xxl_v2_2025-02-25-133029_twio.jpg)![Ohtake A327 A13080 A327 A15630 A327 A16620 A327 A14630 22 05 Roca602 Download 72 dpi](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/Ohtake_A327A13080_A327A15630_A327A16620_A327A14630_22_05_Roca602-Download_72_dpi.jpg)![22 05 Roca077 tif OHTAKE A327 A13640 A5 A349 EC00 22 05 Roca053 t Ambient Pictures TF Mob solu xxl v2](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/22_05_Roca077.tif_OHTAKE_A327A13640_A5A349EC00_22_05_Roca053_t_Ambient_Pictures_TF_Mob_solu_xxl_v2_2025-02-25-133021_uano.jpg)![Ohtake A817596 C40 A817595 C40 A327 A13000 A5 A349 EC00 A812193000 22 05](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/Ohtake__A817596C40_A817595C40_A327A13000_A5A349EC00_A812193000_22_05_2025-02-25-133027_hpfx.jpg)![Ohtake A5 A349 ECN0 A327 A15000 22 05 Roca494 t Ambient Pictures TF Mob solu xxl v2](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/Ohtake_A5A349ECN0_A327A15000_22_05_Roca494_t_Ambient_Pictures_TF_Mob_solu_xxl_v2.jpg) ![Ohtake](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_1410x940_crop_center-center_none/A327A13650_t_Product_Pictures_TF_Mob_prod_xxl_v2_2025-02-25-133024_bhnk.jpg) - Request a quote - [Manufacturer's Product-Info](https://www.roca.com/ohtake) - [Manufacturer's website](https://www.de.roca.com/) All Ohtake products - [![Ohtake](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/004_09004_01_t_Product_Pictures_TF_Mob_prod_xxl_v2_2025-02-25-133018_qwnd.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/roca/ohtake) - [All products by Roca @ Stylepark](https://www.stylepark.com/en/products/manufacturer/roca) - [Roca @ Stylepark](https://www.stylepark.com/en/manufacturer/roca) Roca Related Articles [AWARD NOMINATION Roca: TARGA 12/2/2024 Roca presents the redesigned 'Targa' collection.
