But the architect, designer and member of the famous Dutch De Stijl Group is less well-known for his lamps. For example, the hanging lamp, which he designed for a doctor’s surgery in 1922 and which is now a true classic of the Tecta collection. Rietveld’s small tafellampje is a treasure that is still waiting to be discovered. He designed this table lamp with its strict geometric shape in 1925. Surprisingly modern for its time, it has never been produced in series before. After consulting Rietveld’s heirs, Tecta decided to give the lamp the attention it deserves. The exact dimensions of the original drawing served as the basis of a small, exclusive series. From 2019 it will be available as a first limited edition of 200 numbered and signed lamps. The tafellampje features some enchanting details – just like in the hanging lamp, you will find a varnished luminaire inside the lampshade. Made of aluminium, the lamp head conceals modern technology and LED lighting. This creation by Gerrit Rietveld, “the maker of things – sometimes magical things,” as Peter Smithson called him, is a small, precious sculpture that will enrich the table or windowsill. ![Ep03685 0188](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0188.jpg)![Ep03685 0178](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0178.jpg)![Ep03685 0186](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0186.jpg)![Ep03685 0203](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0203.jpg)![Ep03685 0195](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0195.jpg)![Ep03685 0185](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0185.jpg)![Ep03685 0182](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0182.jpg)![Ep03685 0189](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0189.jpg)![Ep03685 0187](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0187.jpg) ![Ep03685 0181](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0181.jpg)![Ep03685 0191](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0191.jpg)![Ep03685 0179](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0179.jpg)![Ep03685 0180](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0180.jpg)![Ep03685 0194](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0194.jpg)![Ep03685 0183](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0183.jpg)![Ep03685 0184](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0184.jpg)![Ep03685 0192](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0192.jpg)![Ep03685 0193](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/EP03685-0193.jpg) ![Ep03685 0190](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_90_none/EP03685-0190.jpg) - [Manufacturer's website](https://www.tecta.de/) - [All products by TECTA @ Stylepark](https://www.stylepark.com/en/products/manufacturer/tecta) - [TECTA @ Stylepark](https://www.stylepark.com/en/manufacturer/tecta) TECTA Related Articles [REVIEW – SALONE DEL MOBILE & MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2024 Nostalgia and drive 4/23/2024 The Salone del Mobile.Milano and Milan Design Week took place from 16 to 21 April 2024 – read our review to find out what moves the industry and the guests got to see.](https://www.stylepark.com/en/news/salone-del-mobile-milan-design-week-review-design-industry-event-stylepark-magazine) [DESIGN Tecta 2022: D70 ARMCHAIR 5/30/2022 With the armchair "D70" by Tecta, Marco Dessí has designed a timeless piece of furniture inspired by Bauhaus and composed of various geometric figures.](https://www.stylepark.com/en/news/tecta-2022-d70-armchair-marco-dessi-stylepark) [STYLEPARK RAFFLE Hi-Tech meets Low-Tech 4/1/2022 Stylepark is raffling off one "Split Chair" by Tecta.](https://www.stylepark.com/en/news/stylepark-raffle-split-chair-tecta) [STYLEPARK RAFFLE Minimalistic all-rounder 1/1/2021 Stylepark raffles off a copy of the "K7B" by Tecta.](https://www.stylepark.com/en/news/stylepark-raffle-tecta-k7b) [DESIGN TECTA 2020: K7 9/24/2020 Chair ladder step: "K7" by Thomas Schnur for Tecta.](https://www.stylepark.com/en/news/tecta-2020-k7-thomas-schnur)
