Designed in 1958 they rate amongst the great achievements in the design history of the 20th century. An important characteristic of the Aluminium Chair is the intelligent combination of materials. It has a clear, transparent form and its construction is clearly visible. Aluminium sections lend the chair both stability and lightness. The material is fixed into the side sections, yet fitted loosely so that it follows the line of the body and is comfortable without requiring extensive upholstery. This material is not a cover but an integral part of the design. The chairs in the Soft Pad Group by Charles and Ray Eames are now available with new upholstery padding and with Premium Leather covers in a wide range of colours. Premium Leather is also newly offered as a cover material for the Aluminium Chairs. The new palette for Premium Leather comprises 22 shades in three colour groups: warm reddish-browns, cooler green and bluish tones, and contrasting shades with a focus on white-grey-black. The elegant contours of the Soft Pad chairs are highlighted by subtle contrast stitching, which lends them a handcrafted quality. ![Aluminium Chair 107 108 2](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/v/vitra/produkte/aluminium-chair-107-108/_697x479_crop_center-center_none/aluminium-chair-107-108-2.jpg) ![Aluminium Chair 107 108 3](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/v/vitra/produkte/aluminium-chair-107-108/_697x479_crop_center-center_none/aluminium-chair-107-108-3.jpg) - [Manufacturer's Product-Info](http://www.vitra.com/en-gb/product/aluminium-chair-group) - [Manufacturer's website](http://www.vitra.com) All Aluminium Chair products - [![Aluminium Chair EA 104](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/v/vitra/produkte/03/3a-composites/produkte/aluminium-chair-ea-104/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/aluminium-chair-ea-104-1.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/vitra/aluminium-chair-ea-104) - [![Aluminium Chair EA 103](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/v/vitra/produkte/03/3a-composites/produkte/aluminium-chair-ea-103/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/aluminium-chair-ea-103-1.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/vitra/aluminium-chair-ea-103) - [![Aluminium Chair EA 101](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/v/vitra/produkte/03/3a-composites/produkte/aluminium-chair-ea-101/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/aluminium-chair-ea-101-1.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/vitra/aluminium-chair-ea-101) - [![Aluminium Chair 125](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/v/vitra/produkte/aluminium-chair-125/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/aluminium-chair-125-1.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/vitra/aluminium-chair-125) - [![Aluminium Chair 124](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/v/vitra/produkte/aluminium-chair-124/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/aluminium-chair-124-1.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/vitra/aluminium-chair-124) - [![Aluminium Chair 107 - 108](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/v/vitra/produkte/aluminium-chair-107-108/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/aluminium-chair-107-108-1.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/vitra/aluminium-chair-107-108) - [![Aluminium Chair 105 - 106](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/v/vitra/produkte/aluminium-chair-105-106/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/aluminium-chair-105-106-1.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/vitra/aluminium-chair-105-106) - [![Aluminium Chair 119](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/v/vitra/produkte/aluminium-chair-119/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/aluminium-chair-119-1.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/vitra/aluminium-chair-119) - [All products by Vitra @ Stylepark](https://www.stylepark.com/en/products/manufacturer/vitra) - [Vitra @ Stylepark](https://www.stylepark.com/en/manufacturer/vitra) Vitra Related Articles [FAIRS & EVENTS City for All 8/25/2021 From 9 to 11 September 2021, current questions about urban development will be discussed in Frankfurt am Main as part of the new festival "S.O.U.P. – Shaping Our Urban Phuture".
