"Certification of the LAVIGO was for us a first step, one that we consider to be important. This allows us to set an example in this sector, and we also view this step as an integral component of our responsibility towards society”, states Gerhard Waldmann, the owner and CEO of Herbert Waldmann GmbH & Co. KG to explain his decision. To satisfy requirements, all the materials used in the LAVIGO were identified. They were evaluated in terms of their toxicological credentials and, in some cases, improvements were made. In addition, this evaluation incorporated verification of the energy balance, the volume and quality of water required and compliance with social criteria. This comprehensive evaluation process was performed by EPEA, assisted by the renowned Stuttgart-based construction and consultancy company Drees & Sommer. For example, Waldmann was able to contribute with some hard facts. Following initial certification of LAVIGO with VTL for biodynamic light, other products in the LAVIGO family are now also being prepared for certification. In addition, Waldmann is examining the demanding criteria associated with the implementation of all new developments in the office lighting sector. Waldmann luminaires deliver benefits in the form of bonus points for construction projects that strive to achieve building certification, for example through DGNB or LEED. “Quality products such as the LAVIGO from Waldmann”, explains Braungart, “support a positive development trend in the construction sector”. They are an essential requirement for attractive and healthy buildings, and they provide an added value for people and for the environment. \- Performance level for highest lighting demand \- Optimised ratio of direct to indirect light for standard-compliant, uniform illumination of large light calculation surfaces \- Easy-to-reach, multifunctional operating element \- Human centric lighting VTL for office workplaces ![Steh Lavigo Vtl Gr 2](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/steh_lavigo_vtl_gr_2.jpg) ![Lavigo 2](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/Lavigo-2_180326_105635.jpg) ![B3 C2 C Lavigo Einzel 11 Leerschuss](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_90_none/B3_C2C_lavigo_einzel_11_leerschuss.jpg) - [Manufacturer's Product-Info](https://www.waldmann.com/home/office/products/free-standing-luminaires/lavigo~ff80818148b193700148e46cfe5e3d3c.en.html;jsessionid=5E43F172034F679DE5994EBFA89436AB) - [Manufacturer's website](https://www.waldmann.com) All Lavigo products - [![LAVIGO wall lamp](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/wand_lavigo_gr.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/waldmann/lavigo-wall-lamp) - [![LAVIGO suspended lamp](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/1512_waldmann_freisteller_lavigo-pendel_weiss.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/waldmann/lavigo-suspended-lamp) - [![LAVIGO desk mounted luminaire](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/lavigo_tischaufbau_totale_silber_lichtan.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/waldmann/lavigo-desk-mounted-luminaire) - [![LAVIGO Twin-U floor lamp](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/Lavigo-Twin-U.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/waldmann/lavigo-twin-u-floor-lamp) - [![LAVIGO Twin-T floor lamp](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/Laigo_twin-t.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/waldmann/lavigo-twin-t-floor-lamp) - [![LAVIGO floor lamp](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/articles/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/Lavigo-1_170320_171744.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/waldmann/lavigo-floor-lamp) - [All products by Waldmann @ Stylepark](https://www.stylepark.com/en/products/manufacturer/waldmann) - [Waldmann @ Stylepark](https://www.stylepark.com/en/manufacturer/waldmann) Waldmann Related Articles [FEATURED Healthy light 6/24/2019 Waldmann has devised a lighting concept for medical technology producer Medwork that benefits its users' health.](https://www.stylepark.com/en/news/waldmann-workplace-lighting-medtech) [FEATURED Synchronized with the body’s inner clock 5/3/2018 Waldmann has provided ideal working light in Bayer’s head office in Basel.](https://www.stylepark.com/en/news/waldmann-luminaire-hcl-inner-clock) [FEATURED A good night’s sleep begins in the office 11/27/2017 With “Pulse VTL”, Waldmann has developed a system for biodynamic lighting in the workplace that takes into account the latest findings from lighting and health research.](https://www.stylepark.com/en/news/waldmann-biodynamic-lighting) [STYLEPARK WALDMANN Light as therapist 10/9/2017 Biodynamic light by Waldmann boosts the quality of life of care-home residents in Altentreptow and Neubrandenburg.](https://www.stylepark.com/en/news/waldmann-lights-biodynamic-therapy) [FEATURED The best light 24/7 9/16/2017 The new newsroom at Pressehaus Stuttgart boasts a modern infrastructure – and that includes optimal illumination of the workstations by Waldmann products.](https://www.stylepark.com/en/news/waldmann-lavigo-pulse-lamp-light)
