Scotland’s new architectural highlight has the makings of a Mecca for the design crowd: The V&A Dundee, a museum of design, opened on September 15 in a building created by Japanese star architect Kengo Kuma.
Uniting opposites: the opulent upholstery looks like it is floating in the geometric frame. Lines and volumes, hard and soft, heavy and lightweight are clearly separated from one another and yet together have a unique effect. In combination, they are intensified to present an image of timeless elegance.
