Adell & Aston Club

Manufacturer: Arper
Design: Lievore + Altherr Désile Park, Jean-Marie Massaud

Open space, comfort and sustainability: These are the characteristics that define the current product innovations at Arper. Together with Lievore + Altherr Désile Park, the Italian furniture manufacturer has designed “Adell”, an armchair whose organic shape and broad seat are sure to guarantee pure relaxation. More than 500 fine lines traverse the upholstery material – which was inspired by nature – resembling so many rings of a tree trunk or the patterns on seashells. The seat and its upholstery are also made primarily from recycled polypropylene, while all the other materials used can be reincorporated into the cycle after a long lifespan. “Adell” makes a gentle statement in natural color tones ranging from warm white to dark burgundy, and can be adapted according to requirements: The upholstery can be fixed or removable depending on whether “Adell” is to be used inside or out. For the frame, there is a choice of either runners or four legs in either wood or metal. “A great deal of care has gone into the construction of Adell, and its design stands out for the lasting qualities that make it a perfect fit in any setting. Its graphic language is pleasing and familiar, as if it had always been there,” comments designer Jeannette Altherr.

More striking but just as comfortable is the latest advance to the “Aston”, a lounge chair designed by Jean-Marie Massaud. The high back of "Aston Club" with its incorporated headrest offers the sitter a protected space that fosters concentration and relaxation, making the chair suitable for a variety of settings, from hotel lobbies to private living rooms. Users can choose from a broad selection of upholstery materials for both the “Aston Club” chair and its matching footstool. The options for the footstool also include polished or painted aluminum. Produced without the use of adhesives or environmentally harmful solvents, each piece of “Aston Club” has been designed so as to be easily dismantled and recycled after use according with Arper’s efforts towards sustainable production. “The result is an armchair that scores points for its confident, timeless design and offers not only comfort, but also sustainability,” says Jean-Marie Massaud. And soon you’ll be able to experience “Adell” and “Aston Club” digitally in various different settings on the interactive online platform “Arper Virtual Spaces”.
