Dear Santa…
17 December 2012
The Christmas season requires a lot of hard work. It also calls for a great deal of thought when it comes to gifts. Have you bought all of your presents? Or are you still mulling it over? What should you give this person or that? Which presents would your nearest and dearest like the most? How much can you afford to spend? Or would it be better to make something yourself?

Giving presents means taking time, thinking of others, carefully choosing just the right gift, but of course much of the joy found in giving comes from the anticipation of that happy response when they pull away the wrapping paper.

Yet writing your own Christmas list isn’t any less complicated. This too is an art in itself. Happiness, health and good fortune – or perhaps those gorgeous shoes after all, or that long awaited trip, the newest gadget, a chair or mirror for the apartment?

And as with giving, when making your Christmas wish list that thrill of anticipation is often the best part. Which is why you quite often wish you could give something really special as a gift, something that might seem completely unattainable, but just imagining the expression on the recipient’s face is gratification enough.

Now, as a way of sharing the joy of making Christmas wishes and giving gifts to others, we have come up with a “special feature”. Seen as it’s Christmas, we were able to persuade the Stylepark team to provide you with some very special and somewhat different inspiration to take with you on your search for the perfect Christmas present. All of their recommendations are based on the theme:

What I always wished I could give as a present.

And so that you know exactly who has shared their gift tips, we have asked all those who have contributed to take a photo of themselves and include it with their personal Christmas wish. So you’ll also have a chance to get to know the team a little better!

So all that’s left to say is enjoy writing your Christmas list, giving gifts to your loved ones and rummaging around in the search for the perfect gift.

The Matterhorn

Cubus Sekretär PC by Team 7

"My dream desk. An elegant cube that has everything you need to work and store away at the push of a button. It’s astonishing how the screen glides smoothly upward from within the cube. Closed it is a fine piece of furniture, open a practical secretary. It has everything, space for a computer, printer, storage space for all the things you need big and small. What more could you want? Of course everything comes at a price. But then you do get what you pay for. Perhaps if my friends, parents, grandparents and the wedding guests all clubbed together?" The Moon

"Wouldn’t we like to find out what is behind all of this, what remains hidden? Do we not want to, metaphorically speaking, see what’s on the other side of the moon, which brightens those cloudless nights so beautifully with its indirect light? So that we don’t lose sight of this, I’ll be giving the moon as a present – or at least 'My Moon Mirror' from the Diesel Collection by Moroso. That way you can play the man or indeed the woman on the moon every single day." Photo © Moroso

A vintage car

"Giving presents is an affair of the heart. I love making presents myself. I get so excited, I can barely wait to make my ideas a reality and give them to the right people. I’m quite generous when it comes to giving presents and I prefer to see the joy other people get from them than buy things for myself. If I had one wish, I would fulfill my one and only’s greatest wish and give him a vintage car. Fascination, passion and fun all combined in a car with a long history. Oh how I would love to be able to make his dream come true and ride off with him on a road trip through the sunny, autumn-red countryside."

The Wire

"I would recommend my favorite TV series 'The Wire'; the box set of the fifth series is finally available in German. It is set in the US city of Baltimore and gives us a true insight into the way the police work there. In my opinion, this series is the only one that succeeds in portraying the complex involvements and independencies cutting right through all of the city’s social strata, showing just how powerless the police, justice and executive authorities really are. The series is a masterpiece of Naturalism and many consider it the best TV drama ever."
