Panel Discussion "Design and Irony" with Dr. Ulrich Schneider, Dr. Volker Fischer, Volker Albus and Thomas Wagner (Moderation: Katharina Altemeier, form), followed by a Cocktail Reception on Monday, 7 April 2008 starting at 6.30 p.m., Schaumainkai 15-17, Frankfurt.On the occasion of Luminale, the lighting design company Foscarini, based in Marcon near Venice, introduces a world premiere of the new design concept "Tropico". It is designed by Giulio Iacchetti, one of the most successful and promising newcomers of the Italian design scene, recently awarded with the important design prize Compasso d´Oro. The lamp concept - characterised by their modular shape obtained through the combination of a large number of small elements - is showcased through lighting installations especially designed for the exhibition space in the Museum für Angewandte Kunst Frankfurt.Foscarini also presents the preview of the ninth issue of the company publication LUX. The publication, published twice a year, is always dedicated to a topic - this time "Irony".
