Tour d' Europe
von | Oct 28, 2008

Zumtobel kicked off its European Highlight Tour in September in Ljubljana, Slovenia; the tour will be showcasing the new products displayed at Light + Building 2008 at all its ports of call. The tour took the concept for the fair stand and transformed it into a transportable model. During its six month journey it will cover more than 23,000 kilometers and present Zumtobel and its products at more than 40 different locations throughout Europe.

Based on the concept of "Humanergy Balance" - a concept intended to combine the human, economic, and ecological aspects of light - the main fields of application, namely art and culture, hotels and wellness, presentation and sales, as well as offices and communication are all portrayed - in only four light cubes. The new products are showcased in the individual pavilions. In the "Hotel und Wellness" cube, for example, Matteo Thun's "Sconfine" range of luminaires is on display. The underlying idea: to give clients an opportunity to view the products at close range and actually see them in practice.

The show represents both a logistical and a technical challenge. The total weight that will be transported from Finland to southern Italy is more than ten tons. The Tour's next port of call will be Copenhagen, and from November through mid-January it will be on the road in Germany.
