Born in Milan, Laura Agnoletto gradueted with a degree in philosophy from the Università Statale di Milano. After university she worked in London with colleague Marzio Rusconi Clerici, where together they designed various electronic objects, particularly radios and televisions.

After returning to Milan in 1986 the two opened their “studio-lab" in the heart of the city, a space created for display as well as for the designing process. Since then, they have participated in numerous expositions throughout Italy and abroad displaying their "one-off" pieces which blur the line between provocative art and functional design. Side by side they have produced lamps and home furnishings for various companies, including Memphis, Nemo, Mastrangelo, FontanaArte, Pallucco, Zeus, Status, Slide, Glas, Martini, and Swatch.
Since 1989, their design objects have been utilized for a wide range of TV shows (Alla scoperta dell’Arca, Rai), and for shop window dressing (among which Fiorucci flagship store in Milano).

They designed the interiors for companies such as Clear Channel Italia and Doing Italia, and the interiors of Hotel Le Terrazze in Ispra. They also designed the lamps for the bicycle runs of San Remo and Varazze Sea Passage, and the lamps for the new Palazzo del Cinema in Venice. Along with atelier Mendini, they participated in the competition for Modam, the “Scuola della Moda” museum in Milan.
Agnoletto and Rusconi Clerici’s personal work and collaborations have appeared in countless exhibitions, most recently at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan. The show displayed Amantide and Aracnide, two pieces which the duo created back 1985. Since 2008 he has been working with the historical Milanese shop “Tessuti Mimma Gini”, fashioning various chairs and light fixtures. The next opening will be in a similar space, dedicated to the new path of design born from such ‘in-store collaborations.
