We wanted to design a stacking chair, which did not look obviously like a stacking chair. We worked on the frame and side rails to allow space for the rear legs from the chair above. I don’t think we have ever used so much foam, card, strips of wood and computer time before in any design study. I think it was worth the effort as I am really pleased with end result. I think it has a special presence, comfort and balance. You owe me a whiskey!
