He began working in 1985 as a mechanical draughtsman and illustrator. His passion for light led him to concentrate his design activities in the lighting sector. In 1988 he began to produce and distribute the first Davide Groppi brand lamps. Over the years Groppi has put together a work group which designs his own brand and also works for other clients. For Boffi he created the lamps Ozen, Mini Ozen, Toast and Zero.
