The out-of-focus contours of this classic design give POMPADOUR its contemporary touch. Woven on a silk warp with a linen weft, the satin construction increases the natural shimmer of the silk. Unlike other silks, POMPADOUR is first washed in cold water, then tumble-dried and finally treated with hot steam. This is what gives the drapery fabric its three-dimensional surface and the soft touch. POMPADOUR is woven by an Italian weaver who mostly works with fashion fabrics.
