Dögg Guðmundsdóttir, born in 1970 in Reykjavik, Is an Icelandic designer based in Copenhagen. Her works are distinctly influenced by the naturalness of the materials, organic shapes and traditional craftsmanship. The clean language of her style does impressively reflect her ability to conceive and convey things in their originality. For her, art and design have an important mutual contagious association to each other and can therefore give a more emotional meaning to the people. A special feature of her work is the versatility of the objects and a playful approach to the design, thus many of her designs can serve two different purposes or be used in various ways.
Dögg studied industrial Design at the 'Istituto Europeo di Design' in Milan from 1992 – 1996 with diploma, there after she studied at the Danish Design School 1996-1998 as guest student in for glass, product and graphics department. In 2011 she graduated at the 'Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts' in Copenhagen with a master degree in Design.
