Thomas J. Newhouse DesignUnited States
Tom Newhouse has been a dedicated environmentalist since graduating from the University of Michigan in 1972. In 1978 he designed and personally built his own passive solar, earth sheltered, low energy consumption residence and design studio, that won a national design award from the U.S. department of Housing and Urban Development and Environmental Protection Agency. Since 1978 Tom has had his own industrial design studio, with eco-design principles central to his creative design work with a diverse clientele. In recent years, his approach to design has been honed to what he calls his "Four Corners Philosophy," that is reflected graphically in his firm's "four square" logo.
