A solid footing on an upward spiral
EeStairs designed a sweeping staircase for the new headquarters of Dutch manufacturer Vreugdenhil.
3-sided enclosed stairwells tend to feel cramped not only due to the walls, but partly due to the amount of balustrade required. It is normal practice for the balustrade to close off flights separately double backing on itself, causing overlapping which looks busy and cluttered.
EeStairs is not a normal staircase supplier, so we have designed a solution that cleans up this area with a single fabricated multi-functional laser cut steel beam. It's primary function is providing support for the treads and rest landing. It also houses the glass balustrade panels on both the lower and upper flights.
This structural member gracefully curves back on itself at each landing level with thin treads connecting the steel back to the walls. We feel sure that this minimal design will clean up many stairwells so please get in touch ask about whoosh.
