The media company Condé Nast Germany has moved to the Richard Meier Building in Munich after an extensive redesign.
With inspiration from the classic barometer, this series of two clocks is deliberately analogue. In our digital age, when everyone uses their mobile phones to keep track of time, there is no functional reason for opting for a mechanical clock. Shane Schneck has stretched that premise in the two watches, which are deep enough to jut out from the wall with hands that are three-dimensional rather than flat. The deliberate focus on the three-dimensional tangibility in contrast to digital minimalism makes Analog a celebration of all the things we can’t just replace with a click.
