When summer arrives, life moves outdoors – and so does design. Architecture and design respond with smart solutions that blend function and expression: parasols, pergolas, and textured surfaces not only provide shade and shelter – they also shape space. Lighting adds highlights, extends the day, and provides guidance after dark. And furniture with open structures or perforated surfaces lets the light filter through, creating lively shadow plays.

This edition explores how light and shadow define outdoor spaces in summer – functionally, aesthetically, and atmospherically.

Enjoy the discovery!
DIBBERN: LUMEN
Design: Tobias Grau, 2024
Fine dining deserves a fine stage – and DIBBERN’s Fine Bone China delivers: ultra-thin, translucent, elegant, and surprisingly tough.

Now, with the LUMEN table lamp collection by Tobias Grau, the perfect lighting joins the table. This long-standing collaboration between DIBBERN and the designer is rooted in regional proximity and a shared passion for quality and design.

LUMEN blends minimalist design with premium materials: two porcelain cylinders, four glass shades in two colors each – all mix-and-match. The result? A warm, soft light with real character.

Thanks to tipsyControl, the lamps dim and switch on/off with a tilt. Cordless, battery-powered, and with up to seven hours of glow time, LUMEN is smart, stylish, and super intuitive.
DEDON: KIDDA Hanging Lounge Chair
Design: Stephen Burks, 2024
The KIDA hanging chair feels almost weightless thanks to its open, wrapped structure. Instead of traditional weaving, it’s wrapped – giving it an organic, airy look that feels light and inviting.

Whether by the pool, on the terrace, or under shady trees, KIDA blends effortlessly into any setting and invites you to just relax. The powder-coated aluminum frame keeps it stable yet lightweight, wrapped in ultra-soft DEDON touch fiber for next-level comfort and quality.

Available in three stylish striped designs – including the vibrant glow touch – KIDA brings color, style, and a floating feeling to any outdoor space.
TUUCI: MAX Bolero, Ombré Blossom
Design: 2025
The Ombré Blossom parasol from the MAX Bolero collection turns heads before it even casts shade. With its gently curved canopy, cascading ribs, and generous size, it looks like a floating sculpture.

The magic is in the details: hundreds of hand-tufted blossoms adorn the canopy, creating a lively play of texture, color, and light. Every fabric layer, every seam, every rib end speaks of precise craftsmanship and a refined sense of aesthetics.
FERMOB: HOOPIK
Design: 2020
Round shape, iconic light ring, soft glow – Hoopik brings a touch of magic to any space. Whether as a cordless table lamp or a string of lights, once dusk falls, Hoopik seems to float and naturally draws the eye.

But behind the dreamy design lies substance: Hoopik stands for thoughtful craftsmanship and sustainable materials. Built to last, with durable components that shine indoors and out.
Pratic: Carrera S
The bioclimatic Carrera S pergola redefines outdoor living. Its innovative roof system with fixed and movable aluminum slats precisely controls light and airflow – on two levels, fully automated. The result? A pleasant microclimate that adapts to weather and time of day.

Freestanding or wall-mounted, Carrera S impresses with sleek design and modular flexibility. Glass walls, LED lighting, or functional add-ons integrate seamlessly. Even the fixed slats can hold hanging elements – smart down to the last detail.

Colors and features are fully customizable from the Living Series. Control is fully automated via standard smart home systems.
Varaschin: Sunmoon
Sunmoon is your outdoor escape – a place to unwind, breathe, and just be. By day, it’s a lounge. By night, a cozy spot under the stars.

Its design feels light and elegant, like it’s drawn from lines and light. Everything’s intentional: movable fabric cover, integrated lighting, handwoven details – all made from recycled materials.

Sunmoon adapts – to spaces, moods, and times of day. And it creates what’s often missing outdoors: a space that feels like indoors, only freer.
Lodes: Volum Outdoor
Design: Snøhetta, 2025
The outdoor version of the Volum collection brings its signature soft glow outside. Light radiates evenly in all directions, with no harsh shadows – creating a calm, almost meditative vibe.

Developed with Snøhetta, Volum combines timeless form with the precision of traditional glassmaking. The result? Light objects that blend in quietly – yet leave a lasting impression, even under open skies.
OUT: Ivy Outdoor
Conversations flow, the light softens – IVY is made for these in-between moments. Its design is clean, architectural, and thought through to the last detail. Powder-coated steel tubes feel light and graphic – and stay cool even in the heat. The seating is stackable, comfy, and ergonomically spot-on – perfect for long evenings and spontaneous gatherings.

Between table and chair, light, shadow, and color come alive. Sienna red and soft pink meet the green of nature or the grey of the city – creating a unique outdoor magic.
Contardi: CLARA
Design: 2023
Clara is like a modern lantern – portable, hangable, and ready for anything. Its warm, all-around glow sets a calm, cozy mood, indoors or out.

The lamp head detaches and doubles as a hanging light – flexible and clever. Lacquered metal and a Vienna weave-look surface give Clara its elegant edge. Weatherproof, UV-resistant, and ready for any setting.
Bover: Nans Bag
Design: 2022
Nans Bag looks like a woven basket – hand-braided, colorful, and made for the outdoors. Its wide shape is topped with an aluminum cover, turning it into both a lamp and a small side table. Two teak handles make it easy to move around.

The light color adjusts at the push of a button – from 2200K to 2700K, depending on your mood. Weatherproof and endlessly versatile.
Gandia Blasco: FLEX Pergolas
Design: Studio Gensler, 2025
Outdoor work needs new structures – light, open, and adaptable. FLEX delivers. Designed for modern work habits, FLEX creates spaces for meetings, focus, or creative breaks – wherever the traditional office no longer fits.

The modular design – by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales in collaboration with Gensler – is fully customizable: from open pavilions to functional outdoor workstations. Made from aluminum, the pergolas are durable, weatherproof, and versatile – whether in the city or surrounded by nature.

Paired with matching furniture, FLEX becomes a space for inspiration – for new ideas, new encounters, and new ways of working.
Diabla: Plisy
With its pleated shade and handbag-style handle, Plisy brings playful elegance to the outdoors. This portable LED lamp charges via USB and glows with warm light for up to ten hours – dimmable with just a tap.

Whether on the table, worn on the wrist, or hanging like a lantern, Plisy is ready for anything – garden dinners, beach strolls, or evening walks. Its metal base nods to classic purse hooks, making it a stylish companion at the dining table or in your favorite lounge corner.
S•CAB: Malvasia
For S•CAB, Francesca Lanzavecchia designed an outdoor chair that blends sociability, comfort, and relaxation. Inspired by Mediterranean vineyards, Malvasia combines poetic lightness with technical finesse.

The geometric slats create a breezy play of light and shadow, reminiscent of leaves or pergolas. Backrest and seat are crafted from a single rolled and perforated metal sheet – seamlessly welded to the tubular frame. A complex process that pushes the material to its limits while achieving a clean, elegant design.

Lanzavecchia’s philosophy? To design everyday objects with emotional depth – functional, symbolic, and full of atmosphere.
Paola Lenti: Clique, Bistrò & Mogambo
Clique brings comfort right where the shade is. These padded modules wrap snugly around the poles of the Bistrò or Mogambo parasols, creating a relaxed, social vibe outdoors. The weatherproof covers come in a variety of fabrics, and the seat cut-out ensures a seamless fit with the umbrella.

Bistrò stands out with its clean lines – available flat or dome-shaped, and tiltable on request. Mogambo features a handwoven canopy made from Samo cord, turning it into a
sculptural centerpiece. Both models are sturdy, weather-resistant, and available in a range of colors.

An optional side table mounts directly to the umbrella pole – perfect for drinks, books, or everyday essentials. The result? A thoughtfully designed outdoor set for stylish moments in the shade.
Cattelani & Smith: Syphasera
Slim, subtle, and precise – Syphasera brings light to outdoor spaces without stealing the spotlight. Designed by Enzo Catellani and Maurizio Quargnale, this lamp impresses with its minimalist silhouette and artisanal quality.

Its warm white light (2700 K) is diffused gently – soft, glare-free, and atmospheric. With an IP65 rating, Syphasera is dust-tight and protected against water jets – perfect for garden paths, terraces, or quiet outdoor retreats.

Each piece is handcrafted in limited numbers, with a focus on creating long-lasting lighting objects that blend function with poetry.
