In order to provoke an in-depth exploration of the element of water, Axor has launched its own competition. For the “Axor Inspiration Project” architects and interior designers were invited to develop new concepts on the topic of “water in space”, with a focus on presenting water and its properties independently of standards and regulations. The only specification was that the project takes up no more than 20 square meters.

What does water do with space,
and what does space do with water?
How can water change our experience of space?
How do we perceive water and how do we interact with it?
Does the way water in space is handled influence our own body awareness?
Does the way in which water and space interact lead to an independent physical culture?

The concepts and ideas entered should consciously go beyond the boundaries of what is customary and take a surprising, courageous, conceptual, experimental and artistic approach to the topic.
Even during the initial design phase participants can swap ideas and inspire one another. Berlin-based company Jovoto, a specialist in creative processes in the digital sphere, has made its online platform available to facilitate communication and discussion.

On February 24, 2015 a jury will select the ten most exciting projects from among the concepts and idea outlines entered for the “Axor Inspiration Project”. They will be presented to the public on March 12, 2015 at an event in Frankfurt/Main.
Three finalists will be named in a second jury session. They will receive prize money of 2,000 euros each and will be asked to finalize their concept so that it can be realized 1:1.
