Bonaldo 2023: PADIGLIONI

For the "Padiglioni" table, Alain Gilles was inspired by one of the internationally most famous Bauhaus buildings: Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's pavilion, which he realised for the 1929 World's Fair in Barcelona.

For "Padiglioni", Alain Gilles takes up for Bonaldo the clear structure of the architecture and translates it into three asymmetrical elements: Each of them shows its own form and strength, standing for itself as well as dynamically interacting with each other. The unusual shapes of the ensemble thus offer a different overall picture depending on the angle from which they are looked at. On top of them sits a plate with a conical curve at the edges, which is slightly inclined downwards. "Padiglioni" is available in three different sizes and in two versions: Either as a monochrome version made from a single material or combined from two different materials.

Both versions also offer a wide range of individual design options: If "Padiglioni" is made of one material, you can choose between manually smoothed clay and wood. In detail, the colours "Glacier", "Graphite", "Neige", "Perle", "Terracotta" or "Terre" are available for the version made of clay, and the options "brushed charcoal oak" or "Canaletto walnut" for the option in wood. If the table is to be made of two materials, the wooden tabletop can be combined with legs in metal - with a wide choice of coloured lacquers or the "bronze", "pearl gold" and "lead" variants in the metal Plus version. The dialogue of contrasts in "Padiglioni", which merges into a skilful balance, thus demonstrates not only the design skills of Alain Gilles, but also the craftsmanship of the Bonaldo team. (am)
