STYLEPARK MAGIS – FOCUS ON HOSPITALITY
Princely seating

The renovation of a historical chateau in Belgium was completed with furniture by Magis.

Seating from the „Traffic” collection that Konstantin Grcic designed for Magis now enhance the look of one of the spacious rooms with an open fireplace and stucco elements.

Not far from Brussels you can turn through a wrought-iron gate down a road to Château de l’Ardoisière, a grand building from 1884. The manor was recently fully renovated and has now been restored to its former glory with its white façade and slate roof. Architects Stéphane Lebrun and Joan Vossen from Kyo-Co atelier have transformed the estate, formerly in private hands, with its 4.5-hectare park into an extensive event location, with plenty of space for conferences, seminars and receptions and with 17 double rooms for overnight accommodation.

For the interior the architects opted for furniture by Magis. Now armchairs, two-seaters and a matching table from the „Traffic” collection, designed by Konstantin Grcic for Magis, complement one of the large rooms with fireplace and stucco elements. Thanks to their delicate frames and minimalist form, they lend the historical rooms a modern touch, yet without over-dominating. „First Chair” by Stefano Giovannoni and „Striped Table” by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec were used in diverse seating areas. With its clear, no-frills shape, the combination fits perfectly into the dignified atmosphere of the chateau. The interior color palette is dominated by white, light gray and chocolate – the contrast between light and warm, dark surfaces makes the rooms seem alive and lends them additional depth. A real eye-catcher was chosen for the terrace area: Here several „Venice Chairs” by Konstantin Grcic with light-green backrests form an ideal duo with the Bouroullec brothers’ „Striped Table”, adding a fresh splash of color. Unlimited celebration: Stefano Giovannoni’s minimalist „First Chair” is also available with leather covers.
The lightweight stackable „First Chair” is also used in the lecture hall in the Château.
The combination of „First Chairs” and the „Striped Table” by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec sits well in the dignified atmosphere of the castle – thanks to their clear, no-frills shapes.
Konstantin Grcic‘s „Venice Chairs“ with their bright green backrests team up with the „Striped Table” by the Bouroullec brothers to form an ideal duo, setting a joyful color accent.
