COR: ECHO by Lukas Heintschel
What is special about Lukas Heintschel's design is that its cylindrical base is covered in fabric or leather. The choice of material offers many possibilities to either create a harmonious unit with the seating furniture or to create a powerful contrast. The young Munich designer explains: "My idea was to transfer COR's strengths in upholstery craftsmanship to a table. I achieved lightness and tranquillity through the curved, soaring lines." The base opens upwards like a funnel. A round table top is set into it, which provides a shiny counterpoint with either lacquered glass or a parsol mirror. This can be taken out of the fabric frame, making the side table easy to clean despite the exquisite materials. With its clear form, "Echo" works as a single piece or as a group, which can be combined from different sizes and colours if desired. (eb)
