Perfectly parallel shapes for the ceramic basin and furniture: Duravit masters this challenge with a specially developed technology. “Using the c-shaped technology the form is shaped down to the last millimeter without any protrusion or recess and with an accurate join of no less than 4 millimeters – indeed, it’s perfect from every angle,” comments designer Michael Sieger proudly. Even when it comes to radiuses for the basin made completely of DuraCeram the precision is of the same high standard while the surface offers all the benefits of a ceramic glaze such as ease of cleaning and robustness. “And at the same time it offers you completely new design options,” explains Sieger.

With its patented c-bonded technology Duravit already created a practically seamless connection of rounded ceramic with a matching base unit. And it has now gone one step further with the c-shaped technology, which truly constitutes the icing on the cake. In fact, it is already being used in the new variations of Happy D.2 Plus, namely as a washstand with a base or a floor-standing metal console in black matt. But the individual design options are extensive: With the ceramic rim it is possible to create fascinating contrasts with the respective cladding of the unit. And if a more flowing look is desired, then the washstand and storage space can be shaped to create a seamless design. Duravit has achieved a streamlined, light appearance for the console that is available either in standard chrome or matt black.

Both versions have storage space and numerous extras, while the many options for equipping Happy D.2 Plus with draws, shelving, and integrated towel holder leaves nothing to be desired. For those that would appreciate a seat close to the washstand an element that can be added to the left or right of the metal console that comes complete with cushions of a mesh material suitable for bathrooms and the like. “Today, bathrooms must be designed as places in which people enjoy spending time,” says Michael Sieger. Thanks to flawlessly shaped ceramic and the advantages of the Happy D.2 Plus series by Duravit enjoyment is most certainly guaranteed.
