Spacious areas and clear structures: For the head office of chemicals and adhesives manufacturer Sika in Zurich, the architects at Itten Brechbühl chose products by Durlum that provide homogeneous lighting while combining aesthetic appeal and energy efficiency. The result is a highly effective look to the ceilings: round “Lumeo®-R” pendant luminaires were suspended at different heights using metal “Tomeo®-R” elements and combined in fresh green tones to create a truly playful overall configuration.
Thanks to its ventilation perforations and the use of mineral wool, “Tomeo®-R” lowers energy consumption while also dampening background noise. Moreover, the “Lumeo®-R” luminaires rely on LED technology and are therefore highly efficient, hardly protrude from the ceiling and are as light as they are striking. Available as flush-mounted, ceiling mounted or pendant luminaires and in a wide range of sizes, the round lighting unit can be easily integrated into a variety of architectural styles. The visual appearance has also been emphasized, as the “Lumeo®-R” boasts a high-grade finish made of flexible Durosatin®. In the offices, the square “Lumeo®-Q” illuminated surfaces and the “dur-Solo® Active” raft ceiling ensure even illumination and a pleasant ambient climate thanks to their thermal conductivity. (am)
