Expormim 2025: OBI
The shape of the Japanese belt ‘Obi’, which is used to fasten and decorate clothing, is creatively reflected in the structure of the chairs – the slim profile made of high-strength aluminium tubing forms the basis for the elegant, dynamic curve of the wide band. Made from technical Zander fabric or premium Sunbrella Sling, it is available in numerous variants that add a particularly elegant touch. The removable cushion lies on top of it, offering a high level of comfort.
Ludovica and Roberto Palomba have also given the two armchairs different bases: four slightly tapered legs contrast with a sled base. ‘We don't really invent anything: we rediscover things through our experience and our culture. Our search consists of finding fragments of existing reality and recomposing them in a creative way,’ say the designers. Their two new armchairs by Expormim thus offer a unique character and are the ideal addition to the existing collection of armchairs, sofas and flexible modules. (am)
