Hardwood flooring is an enduring classic of interior design. With Cut & Form, Interface draws on this familiar design language, adapting it for contemporary commercial spaces. Natural wood grains engage in a visually compelling dialogue with a striking geometric structure, lending spaces a look that is both warm and precise. The characteristic rhythm of the collection serves as the starting point for the design – angles and movements define the appearance of the 50 x 50 cm tiles and open up numerous possibilities for dividing spaces. Depending on the installation method, dynamic-looking surfaces or clearly structured floor patterns are created, conveying a sense of orientation and calm. Consequently, Cut & Form is suitable for a wide variety of spatial concepts, ranging from open-plan work environments to prestigious reception areas.
The multifaceted colour scheme also contributes to the spatial effect, with a palette of ten variations ranging from light oak and warm honey tones to dark walnut and coffee hues. Subtle gradations within the designs create additional depth, emphasising a natural and inviting atmosphere in the room. “With Cut & Form, we’re reinterpreting a classic pattern in a contemporary way. The collection’s warm, earthy tones provide a solid foundation for colour combinations and experimentation while reinforcing the trend towards natural-looking, inviting interiors,” says Mandy Leeming, Design Director at Interface. This design vision aligns with the needs of the commercial sector. Designed for offices, hotels and healthcare facilities, the collection features a Ceramor+ coating that minimises everyday scratches and signs of wear, and improves slip resistance. This is complemented by the Sound Choice+ backing, which reduces impact sound by up to 19 decibels, thereby improving the acoustic quality of a space.
Interface also takes a holistic approach to sustainability. The tiles contain 39 percent recycled materials and have a cradle-to-gate CO₂ footprint of 6.80 kilograms of CO₂e per square meter. In addition, Cut & Form complements the manufacturer’s existing portfolio and allows for combinations with carpet tiles, other LVT flooring, and rubber flooring from nora. This creates cohesive flooring concepts that combine design, functionality, and sustainability. With Cut & Form, Interface translates the look of classic hardwood floors into a modular system for contemporary interior design. The result is versatile flooring that combines natural beauty, texture, and flexibility into a distinctive design statement.
