Looking over the shoulders of creative people, visiting studios, craft businesses and factories - no longer a matter of course in times of the Corona pandemic. Insight into the heart of production is missing. The Czech glass and lighting manufacturer Lasvit is well aware of this void: Creative Director Maxim Velčovský is currently presenting "The Nature of Glass" with artistic shots, a virtual journey through the glassworks, the Bohemian nature and to the current light installation "Herbarium" by LASVIT. "Even though we are currently unable to take anyone personally into our world of glass and light, we can still present a virtual excerpt of our craftsmanship and innovations", says Velčovský. For "Herbarium" LASVIT preserves nature - branches, flowers and leafs create a unique imprint in the molten glass poured over them.

In addition, LASVIT is currently presenting four new luminaire collections: "Press Iced" by Nendo, "Globe Metro" by Cyril Dunděra, "Spacey" by Lukáš Novák and "Volcano" by creative director Maxim Velčovský himself. The designers' approaches to the new collection are as varied as the glass: while Nendo is inspired by the aesthetics of frozen water and Maxim Velčovský by the elemental power of fire, Cyril Dunděra tiles of the Prague subway serve as inspiration for a luminaire made of borosilicate glass. For "Spacey", designer Lukáš Novák also revives the technique of lithyalin production, which gives the glass a noble, marbled effect reminiscent of the surface of gemstones.
