neue räume 11
From November 1 through 6, Switzerland's largest international furniture show will be celebrating its ten-year anniversary in Zurich with over a hundred national and international exhibitors. In doing so the event organizers are taking the fair's title "neue räume" (new spaces) quite literally: this year the trade fair will be expanding with several new businesses in downtown Zurich, which is to be decorated with staged design objects.

Bauen mit Holz
Wood is a multi-talented material, or so say the exhibition organizers of "Bauen mit Holz – Wege in die Zukunft" (Building with wood – paths into the future). The exhibition, to be held in Munich's Pinakothek der Moderne from November 10, 2011 through February 5, 2012, will make use of 50 selected examples of innovative, digital production methods and wooden architectural constructions, which represent the technical, ecological and design possibilities afforded by this renewable raw material.

Distinct Ambiguity
Why is style the opposite of curiosity? Or how does beauty come about? These and other questions are addressed by the exhibition "Distant Ambiguity" on the Graft architects who have designed a variety of buildings using experimental fusions of unusual architectural hybrids. From November 23, 2011 through February 12, 2012 visitors can discover their visionary worlds for themselves at the exhibition in Haus am Waldsee in Berlin.
