Architecture and Design Month in New York
„Archtober" is New York's Architecture and Design Month, a festival of architectural design activities, programs and exhibitions taking place during the month of October. Archtober presents special tours, lectures, films and exhibitions that focus on the importance of architecture and design in everyday life.
Wild Wild West – Young architects from Belgium
From October 6 thru November 4, the exhibition "Wild Wild West – Young Architects from Belgium" at the AIT ArchitekturSalon in Hamburg will visualize the philosophies and perspectives of new-generation Belgian architects - by means of sketches, images, project films and models.

Paulo Mendes da Rocha in Brussels
From October on, all eyes will be on Brazil at the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels. For four whole months, during „europalia.brasil", the South American giant will be displaying its cultural creativity and diversity. Four major exhibitions will focus on visual art, photography, and architecture. The exhibtion about Paulo Mendes da Rocha will be on show from October 12, 2011 to January 15, 2012.

Self-Publishing Book Fair for Design and Art
Parallel to the Frankfurt Bok Fair there'll be a small independent book fair, the "First Issue - Self-Publishing Book Fair for Design and Art" at which young publishing companies and designers will present publications that they have produced themselves. Moreover, there will be an extensive accompanying program complete with conference, live activities and exhibitions on the topic of "Print Culture: Dead or Alive". The Self-Publishing Book Fair for Design and Art will run from October 14-15 at Gutleutstrasse 8-12 in Frankfurt/Main.

Urbanized
Documentary filmmaker Gary Hustwit is known to many from "Helvetica" or "Objectified". His latest film "Urbanized" is now being shown for the first time in Europe. On October 21, Hustwit will be present in person at the Sheikh Zayed Theatre in London to discuss the film after the debut screening.
