Karlsruhe Institute for Technology: Symposium on the longing for veracity in architecture
What is the meaning of authenticity in architecture? While several monuments to Germany's post-war history are currently being torn down, we seem to be experiencing a simultaneous revival of traditional aesthetic ideals. These recent developments in architecture were the impetus behind the symposium "Authenticity – Longing for Veracity" at the Karlsruhe Institute for Technology, which will be held on the January 28.
University of Arts Berlin: Talk from Coop Himmelb(l)au
The Kristallpalast in Dresden, the BMW Welt building in Munich or the Martin Luther Church in Hainburg – international architectural firm Coop Himmelb(l)au continue to astound us with their ever-surprising architectural models. In their guest lecture as part of the "Future II – Questions for tomorrow" series at the Berlin University of Arts on the January 30, they will give an insight into their work and design philosophy.

Ischgl: World Architects Masters 2012 in skiing and ACF conference
Sporty architects and interior designers from across the globe will soon be making their way to the World Architects Masters 2012, the international championships for architects in skiing, snowboarding and much, much more besides. It will take place in Ischgl in Tirol from Feburary 2 through 5. The Architecture Corporate Foresight conference will run parallel to the competition, where representatives from UNstudio, from Büro Jürgen Mayer H. Architects and Lava Architects will hold talks on themes such as megacities, trend research and the future of travel behavior.

Aedes: Exhibition on architecture by Schmidt Hammer Lassen
Spaces that are open and multi-functional – this is the maxim of Danish architectural firm Schmidt Hammer Lassen which over the last 25 years had won many different awards. The exhibition "Give More" at the Architekturforum Aedes in Berlin from March 3 through 15 will present the company's work, which focuses above all on sustainability and social responsibility.
