Seats for the chic
Cannes and Monte Carlo are two points on the French Mediterranean coast whose very names conjure up images of grandeur: Both locations are not only popular holiday spots among high society, but also set the stage for international events: While Cannes hosts the international film festival every May, Monte Carlo is the setting for the Monaco Yacht Show every year in September. Italian design label Paola Lenti is currently represented with its colorful outdoor furniture in both locations. In Cannes, diners in the outdoor area of the exclusive restaurant 3.14, lying right on the beach, can relax on the square “Hopi” poufs. With a variable backrest, these can be adapted to make the guest as comfortable as possible. Meanwhile, drinks can be placed on the “Heron” side tables, and the handwoven outdoor rug “Jali” enhances the homely character of the overall arrangement. The rug is made of the new “Twiggy” yarn by Paola Lenti, which is surrounded by a thin, transparent coating that renders it waterproof.
In Cannes, a light green and beige version of the “Jali” was chosen, and this produces an ideal ensemble in combination with the small “Heron” side tables and practical poufs from the “Otto” range. Anyone who would rather enjoy the restaurant’s fine, organically oriented cuisine on the bar level, which has been built in wood, can take a seat on one of Paola Lenti’s “Amable” chairs. Alternatively, guests can get comfortable in one of the large “Baia” lounge chairs, while the dome-shaped “Bistró” umbrellas made of fabric and varnished aluminum provide optimum shade. A playful element beneath guests’ feet is the “Cosmo” carpet, which is produced from colored rope cord and is made up of round modules in various colors and structures. Guests sitting directly at the bar can enjoy comfort thanks to the “Heron” bar stools with their small backrests and their bold, petrol-blue covers, which add a nice accent to the light wood of the bar itself. Once the sun sinks beneath the azure-blue water, the battery-operated “Agadir” LED lanterns light the way for guests.
Located just an hour away from Cannes, the Monaco Yacht Show, an international exhibition for motorboats and yachts, takes place from September 25 to 28, 2019. The 29th edition of this fair, which is open to the public, will take place at Monaco’s Hercules Port, where super-yachts, each one more astonishing than the next, will line up in the port for guests to enjoy discovering. Visitors seeking a place to relax can find Paola Lenti represented in the central meeting area on the “Upper Deck Lounge” of the Parvis Piscine A/C event marquee. The modular sofa “Walt”, for example, was also presented at the start of the year at the Salone del Mobile in Milan. As two- or three-seaters with rounded edges and oval-shaped recesses for a side table, these can be arranged to create an extensive seating area. The removable covers can be quickly changed for maximum freedom of color design.
