PAOLA LENTI 2023: KIORI

"Kiori" is the name of Francesco Rota's new series for Paola Lenti, whose structure is made of light-coloured sassafras heartwood - a robust type of wood from North America that has been covered with a hand-woven Conwood weave.

The natural Conwood wickerwork that graces the "Kiori" series by Paola Lenti consists of Abonos™ elm heartwood strips joined with a cork underlay. Elastic but resistant at the same time, it is thus both functional and aesthetic. Francesco Rota has designed a furniture series based on this natural and innovative material: A generous armchair as well as two- and three-seater sofas and a dynamic room divider are part of "Kiori". In addition to the maritime-looking weaving, characteristic features include the comfortable seat and back cushions made of polyester fibre with polyurethane foam overlay, which have a removable cover. For an individual design, it is possible to choose from all the exclusive outdoor fabrics in the collection. The room divider of the "Kiori" collection shows a semicircle in two different heights, whose structure also consists of sassafras heartwood. Its rounded ends extend out of the wickerwork, just as in the furniture, which brings out the maritime character of the design particularly beautifully. Another practical feature is that the "Kiori" room dividers can be combined to form an ensemble as required. (am)
