NOVELTY
Pedrali 2022: JEFF

A sofa system that can be flexibly adapted to every situation: With "Jeff", Patrick Norguet has designed a modular system of upholstered elements for Pedrali that can be used to spontaneously realise small architectures in the room.

With "Jeff" by Patrick Norguet for Pedrali, linear and corner elements can be combined as required with chaise longues and end pieces; versions with armrests can also be selected. The components are held together by concealed connecting hooks. The back cushions are available in two shapes and sizes and thus provide ideal support for the seated person's lower back. Norguet creates harmony of expression through contrast in the design of "Jeff" for Pedrali: the voluminous upholstery made of polyurethane foam was complemented with a square backrest, and the covers were given a surrounding keder. "Contrast is emotion", he says. The base for the upholstery is provided by a plywood board, which is lifted off the floor by means of three-centimetre-high feet. This gives the sofa a pleasantly airy appearance. In addition, the construction is sustainable: "We already thought about sustainability when we designed it, because the sofa can be completely dismantled into its individual parts and recycled. A multiplex platform, foamed polyurethane, three-centimetre-high feet, a removable fabric cover. That's it." he says. Patrick Norguet has also thought of a very practical detail: the cover is removable so that it can be easily cleaned and maintained. (am)
