Rieder 2023: PIXEL

"pixel" is the name of the small concrete shingle that is the result of a smart development by Rieder: it can be used to realise individual building skins that protect the environment at the same time.

A small-format concrete shingle that offers completely new possibilities for the design of building facades: Rieder gives planners and architects a new freedom with "pixel" in the 147 x 240 millimetre format. The origin of Rieder's small-format shingles was a factory's own waste analysis – over the course of a year, it was determined what percentage of the façade elements made of glass fibre concrete were suitable for recycling. The potential forms of the comprehensive analysis resulted in "pixel", a product that both reduces waste and is recyclable. Likewise, "pixel" is a milestone for Rieder on the way to climate-positive production and management by 2030: "We have identified the levers where we can intervene. Now we are implementing our plan, evaluating the results and developing them further," says Wolfgang Rieder.
