The right place for everyone

Steelcase and Microsoft have developed five “Creative Spaces” that combine space and technology to enable the users to work more creatively.

The “Maker Commons” is the space reserved for the makers themselves, where ideas can be swapped swiftly.

Flexible work spaces that support the staff’s imaginative potential – Steelcase in cooperation with Microsoft has just launched nine new work settings, under the heading of “Creative Spaces”. The “Focus Studio”, meaning a space where you can fully concentrate, offers a separate area for individuals to work alone, and for talks that require privacy. In the “Duo Studio”, as the name suggests, there’s space for two people to team up and work together. A lounge area provides space for breaks and a creative exchange of minds in a homely atmosphere. And the “Ideation Hub” is the ideal backdrop for generating ideas, affording the team numerous opportunities for a detailed presentation of their concepts. One special feature of the “Ideation Hub”: Colleagues not present in person can take part in the development process by video conference, an absolute must-have in a globalized world of work.

The “Maker Commons” is the space reserved for the makers themselves, where ideas can be swapped swiftly and space and technology combined for experiments and rapid prototyping; it thus provides technical solutions and mobility for active group work. At the same time, in a mobile working environment you need various ways of retreating to perform tasks requiring peace and quiet: The “Respite Room” offers just that in a leisurely setting. In coming months, Steelcase will be presenting additional work space solutions based on Microsoft Azure IoT technologies. (am)
