At the exhibition Furniture Exhibition Moroso is featuring a diversified and complex programme. "VICTORIA AND ALBERT" (this is the name of the collection) is the result of the intention to propose an innovated but comfortable and cozy design, that may be ideally far from Ron Arad´s 'sculptured upholstery´ that have been part of Moroso´s catalogue for years, and still are a 'living´ solution for people is different situations. Two armchairs accompany a sofa that is the absolute main character on the stage: a true 'positive form´ that is capable of mediating design and functionality combining both research and technology thus assuring a comfortable and cozy place to rest without having to give up 'pillowy´ solutions. In this case, even the designer does not intend to build a totem, his intention is expressed by the possibility to use an object in the most normal manner considering both comfort and beauty. The choice of the name "VICTORIA AND ALBERT" is a homage to the famous museum in London, where a very important anthology of Ron Arad´s works has been hosted in June. The great success with the Victoria & Albert armchair encouraged Moroso to look deeper into the aspects analyzing the possibility to use new materials, maintaining the original shape of the product. The search for new materials have given way to a new approach through the creation of Little Albert, mass-produced obtained by a rotationally moulded coloured polyethelene. The shape of the armchair is the same, material changes. The resistance of the material makes it possible for the armchair to be used in closed and open environments. In fact, the plastic used is resistant to thermal shock as well as to sunlight. Little Albert is mass-produced, using the rotational technology, it is completely recyclable, and is coloured.
