THE RING TABLE - Inspired by a Mexican mid-century design

We are adding a dining table to our product portfolio for the first time. . This piece complements the Acapulco Chair, which has been marketed by managing director Benjamin Caja since 2015. Inspired by the unmistakable shape of the design classic, newly-developed Dining Chair models were being created as far back as 2017. In close collaboration with industrial designer Olivia Herms, long-time project manager at Konstantin Grcic, a dining table has now been created with the development, all the way from design to production, having taken place in Germany.

Inspired by a Mexican mid-century design

The round dining table features a filigree metal frame with butterfly-shaped struts. The connecting element is a central ring that elegantly brings together the table legs and the tabletop - a striking detail that has also been used in the Acapulco Chairs. The ring also facilitates space-saving transport of the table and furniture assembly. In creating the chair in this way, Olivia Herms is maintaining direct continuity with the Acapulco Chair: “The table is a natural development following on from the Acapulco Chair, and has been inspired by its delicate, complex geometries”, explains the designer. “Viewed together, the table's shape also influences the perception of the chair”, adds Olivia Herms.

Friends come together at a round table. As a clear nod to our existing collection, the Ring Table not only follows on from the delicate, complex design of the Acapulco Chairs, but also makes companionship as the epitome of the Mexican way of life tangible to all. The new piece of furniture is therefore a contemporary way of completing the Acapulco Design product family.

Contemporary design manufactured in Bavaria

While the Acapulco Chairs and the AD-1 and AD-4 Dining Chairs are manufactured using traditional methods in Mexico City, the table's entire development process took place in Germany. Production is based in Waakirchen, Bavaria, near Lake Tegernsee.

Diameter 120 cm, height 72.5 cm, material thickness frame 10 mm.

CHARACTERISTICS:

The materials used for the table top of the RING TABLE meet the highest quality standards. The surface is coated with HPL TP. TP stands for Traceless Premium and is a very matt and "soft" laminate. The material is completely insensitive to dirt and fingerprints. The material not only makes the table look very elegant, it also has a very sensual feel.
