Revival vs. Innovation

The grand review: These are the trends and highlights of this year's Milan furniture fair.
The collaboration with studio Nendo continues with a project having great functional features and decorative value. By combining together various elements, Alias presents okome bed, a padded bed composed of a solid light-weight structure and a headboard characterised by gentle curves and soft, natural shapes that call to mind the collection of sofas. The result is a soft object of compact design: the structure and the headboard are both made of multi-layered wood and are padded with polyurethane foam that exalts their shapes.
The project, in the interpretation of Japanese designer Oki Sato, aims to go beyond the run-of-the-mill bed and proposes an aesthetically valuable and functional solution.
Okome bed is the answer by Alias to the world of bed; the shapes of the collection with their soft curves, the extreme formal consistency between the padded elements themselves and the other elements of the collection, all contribute to making this bed truly unique, capable of creating the most diversified scenarios, by making rational use of any space.
