The surprising and successful Pivot cabinet, which was designed in 2008 by the young Israeli designer Shay Alkalay, created a new typology by means of its drawers: these are hinged, which means they can both be opened at the same time, something which is

not possible with conventional drawers. The innovative nature of this cabinet led to the Pivot winning various national and international awards.
