When looking at Atelier Haussmann's furniture you might find yourself asking: Havn't I seen something like this before? Where does it originate? Their designs appear to be contemporary and minimalist whilst at the same time featuring a playful passion with each complementing the other. Closer inspection reveals their colour and design vocabulary doesn't follow the „derniere cri" of today's interior fashion but derives from the manufacturing tradition of the first half of the last century. That's why you experience a Haussmann product as a familiar readymade and a non-industrial design statement against today's stylistic arbitrariness .
