The updated RUTAN essentially consists of a single leg, a leg that can be specified in different colours, with or without castors, and in a version where the leg continues up past the seat and ends in a conveniently placed tabletop. Build standalone RUTAN modules with four legs per unit. Then add magnets to easily bring the individual pieces together to form sofas, corner sofas, or benches. If a connected sofa is desired from the start, the modules can be assembled in a more permanent way, where the legs also function as linking brackets and the modules share the leg set. Should the future require it, the sofa can be divided back into standalone armchairs simply by adding extra legs.Despite its strict form, RUTAN is remarkably comfortable. The upholstered modules feature nozag springs and moulded polyurethane, and your choice of textile, leather, and steel colour lets you play freely with character and expression. Whether you want RUTAN to be monochrome or to pop with contrasting colours - it’s entirely up to you.
