Nomen omen, the Backdrop sideboard by Alain Gilles is a furniture element that acts as a backdrop, adding value to the elements in the room where it is placed. One of its characteristics is the vertical cut of the doors, a clear reference to the façades of the modernist buildings by which it is inspired. The result is a well-structured design that evokes a sense of calm, thanks to the repetition of the front vertical element along the entire length of the sideboard. Visual appeal, but that’s not all: the vertical lines hide the grooves used to open the doors. The frame defining the sideboard is light and goes almost unnoticed, designed to discreetly and elegantly enhance the regularity of the front elements. The Backdrop sideboard is available in Canaletto walnut or caramel glossy lacquered wood.
